Thinking Out Loud

Blog EntryYear End Thought for 2007Dec 27, '07 11:53 AM
for everyone

I was waiting for my photos to be uploaded and suddenly a thought about forgiveness came across. I remembered what John Eldredge wrote in his book Wild at Heart (meant for boys but its fun reading!!! ) and I quote, "Now you must understand: Forgiveness is a choice. It is a not a feeling, but an act of the will. As Neil Anderson has written, "Don't wait to forgive until you feel lilke forgiving, you will never get there. Feelings take time to heal after the choice to forgive made."

I realized one of the things we should do for us to move forward in 2008 is to leave our hurts of 2007 through forgiveness. We can move on by letting go! Actually I'm speaking to myself and I guess I have to act and choose to forgive to welcome a happy life of the coming year.

Blog EntryTry Something NewAug 26, '07 3:56 AM
for everyone
I can eat roasted or fried chicken for a week. When it comes to clothes, shoes, bags, cosmetics, pens, phone I find it hard to try other brands. With friends, I can be with people that I am used to and most comfortable with for years. And even in campus ministry, I am in Mapua Institute of Technology for the longest time -- had my first teaching career and did ministry. I am administratively can be in routines, very steady, detailed and to try something new was a challenge.

To be working in ENCM office was the first challenge -- new environment, new people (got a lot of fears!!! oh no?) But little did I know that more than serving in the national office I got to learn more. One of the few things is to be more people person (e si LA ba naman ang kasama ko Mr. Congenial at si Charis na magimik, si Kuya Marc na maingay) and to see the bigger picture of what God is doing in the campus ministry nationwide and at least a view of worldwide.

And I realized sometimes we don't want to try something new because we get used of things and end up very much comfortable. And a little change would be a challenge! I was very comfortable in Victory University Belt. So contented and fulfilled I guess. But the saying is really true, "change is the only permanent thing"  and diamonds can only be found sometimes when we go through  the process of trying something new. I did try it and I don't regret it at all. It's worth trying.

Blog EntryRest DayFeb 8, '07 10:57 AM
for everyone
I had my mid-week day off. My tonsilitis and fever forced me to stay home for Thursday whole day. I cant live without doing something. I grabbed Elizabeth George's Beautiful in God's Eyes (reading it is one way not to be left behind with our leadership group requirement, hehehe!) I like her thoughts on work. She said, "Work is a matter of the heart, and where there is no heart commitment, little (if any) work gets done...The why will motivate the work...The secret of dsicipline is motivation."

Blog EntryGriffin and PhoenixJan 16, '07 9:08 PM
for everyone
Yesterday I had an all girls night out! watched Griffin and Phoenix with Krish and Maya, ate in Pizza Hut Bistro for dinner.

Relationships are worth investing and spending. That's what we had! We were together for This Cause of advancing God's kingdom and keeping the ties so strong is needed. Thanks to Maya for bringing the three of us together! It is so refreshing to chat, laugh and learn. Hahaha! Thanks Maya and Krish for your legal advise!

Well Griffin and Phoenix is supposed to end in a sad note but yeah why die in dying! Live life and its Griffin and Phoenix greatest decision! Argh, they found themselves in each others' arms not knowing both have cancer! Huh?

The best part? Ending: what a surprise!!! Love is more powerful than death!

Hahaha! We all fell in love.

For Krish: "I'm attracted!" "And I'm taking risk."
For Maya: "What do you want to do?" "I don't know." "I want to go home."
For Me: "I am not being nice, I am falling in love!"

Blog EntryGetting Bigger Each TermOct 15, '05 3:26 AM
for everyone

Great News! Youth on Fire (also recently known as Every Nation Campus Ministries) in Mapua Institute of Technology has grown last 1st QuarTerm to almost close 200 students. We have 19 small group leaders spearheading 24 weekly small group meetings with 163 students attending.

Indeed, we are getting bigger each school term. We just began with a hundred last July.

Our vision by the end of this year is to have 30 small group meetings on-going inside the campus. And this 2nd QuarTerm we are building a strong team of campus leaders.
